Somm Rioja

Some nights you don't need a reason. Bonfire going, full moon coming up over the trees, perfect summer air. That's reason enough.

The Somm Rioja is named after Spain's most celebrated wine region and it smokes like it earned that name. Three year aged Dominican Corojo wrapper over a Sumatra binder with four year aged Dominican filler inside. That combination opens up with toasted oak, baking spice and a natural wine sweetness that feels like it belongs right where I'm sitting. As it burns into the second third you get earth and roasted nuts settling in underneath, with just enough black pepper on the retrohale to keep things interesting. The finish is smooth, slightly tannic, and lingers in the best way.

Some cigars pair well with an occasion. This one pairs perfectly with a fire, a rising full moon and absolutely nowhere to be.
