Photo of the Don Toirac cigar from Log post number 184

SummerSlam Night One is live from Minneapolis and I've got the perfect cigar for all of it.

The Don Toirac. Don Toirac is an artist and entrepreneur from the Dominican Republic whose family has been growing tobacco since his grandfather worked the fields in Pinar del Río, Cuba. He's a close friend of master blender Eladio Diaz and he pulled together tobaccos from Leo Reyes, the Kelners, and some of the most respected names in Dominican tobacco to build this blend. Then he aged everything at least a year and a half before it ever got rolled.

Dominican Habano wrapper with a creamy, powdery draw that opens with milk chocolate, cedar and candied ginger right out of the gate. The middle brings lemon zest and herbs layered over wood notes that remind you of a bourbon barrel aging room. By the final third it's black tea with honey, white pepper still sitting on the retrohale, smooth and complex all the way to the end.

Don Toirac says smoke this somewhere quiet and remember that even when things seem crazy, life is still good. Preshow on, cigar lit, backyard all to myself. Life is very good.
